A boiler sized, fitted and explained properly
Your boiler heats your home and, in most houses, your hot water. When it's old, unreliable or inefficient, you notice it every day: radiators that take ages to warm, showers that run lukewarm and a boiler that seems to need a repair every winter.
Greenwich Heating Solutions installs and replaces gas boilers, services them and repairs heating systems. We're approved installers for Baxi, Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, with Vaillant our preferred brand. Depending on the model, manufacturer warranties run up to 10 years, and every installation also carries our own 2-year workmanship guarantee.
Gas work must by law be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. GHS is Gas Safe registered under number 552913 and holds ACS gas qualifications, G3 unvented hot water qualifications and Water Regulations qualifications, which covers combi boilers, system boilers and unvented cylinders.

Josh visits, checks your existing system, flue, gas supply and hot water needs, and recommends the right boiler.

Fixed-price quote
A written, fixed-price quotation within 24 hours of the survey, including anything like a system conversion or smart thermostat.

Installation
The old boiler is removed and the new one fitted with pipework tidied. Many replacements are completed in a single day.

Testing & commissioning
Gas tightness, flue and system checks, with the boiler commissioned to the manufacturer's requirements.
- 05
Handover & guarantee
We explain the controls, register the warranty and leave the area tidy. Your 2-year workmanship guarantee starts from day one.
Installations normally require a 50% deposit, with the remaining 50% payable on completion. We accept bank transfer, card and cash.

Boilers and heating systems explained
The right boiler depends on your home, how many bathrooms you have and how you use hot water. Here's what we look at.
Combi boilers
A combination boiler heats water on demand and provides central heating from one compact unit, with no hot water cylinder or loft tanks. It frees up space and suits many flats and houses with one main bathroom.
System boilers and unvented cylinders
System boilers work with a hot water cylinder and suit homes with more than one bathroom where several taps may run at once. With an unvented cylinder, hot water is delivered at mains pressure. Our G3 qualification covers the installation of unvented hot water cylinders.
Open-vented to combi conversions
Many older homes still have an open-vented system with tanks in the loft. Converting to a combi removes the tanks and cylinder and simplifies the system. One customer described how Josh and his father converted their open system to a combi in just over half a day and cleaned up afterwards.

We're approved installers for Baxi, Vaillant and Worcester Bosch, and Vaillant is our preferred brand. Manufacturer warranties run up to 10 years, depending on the model chosen.
Smart thermostats and controls
Good controls help any boiler work better. We install smart thermostats such as Hive and explain how to set them up, so you can control the heating from your phone and avoid heating an empty house.
Boiler servicing
An annual boiler service starts from £95 + VAT. It checks the boiler is operating safely and efficiently and helps keep your manufacturer's warranty valid.
Heating repairs
Heating repairs are £120 + VAT for the first hour, then £50 + VAT per additional half-hour. Parts, materials and additional works are charged separately where applicable. If a repair doesn't make sense on an older boiler, we'll say so and give you a replacement price instead.
